MIT IAP is a four-week period in January during which faculty and students are freed from the rigors of regularly scheduled classes for flexible teaching and learning and for independent study and research.

Project Manus has been offering a variety of fun making courses, including lamp welding, LED sign making, wood working, and Internet of Things (IoT) environmental sensors and more.

Cat Arase's MIG Welding Lamp Class introduced students to Adobe Illustrator, MIG welding, and lamp wiring.
Lee Zamir's Veneer Marquetry Box IAP Woodworking Workshop incorporated the following fabrication skills and tools: plywood and mitered edge joinery, table or band saw with sleds, CNC, router table, laser cutter, and polyurethane finishing.
Cat Arase's 12"x12" LED Light Sign IAP course introduced students to multiple tools, such as Adobe Illustrator, CAM, the CNC router, and basic soldering.
Chris Murphy's An Introduction to The Internet of Things (IoT) discussed the basics of IoT, Adafruit IO, CircuitPython and an introduction to Microcontrollers and the Inter-Integrated Circuit (I2C) protocol.
Jon Hunt's Make a solar powered IoT environmental sensor during IAP taught students how to design and make a solar powered temperature and humidity sensor that utilizes the Internet of Things (IoT) to store data.
